Server upgrades to PHP 8.1

In the coming week, all servers are going to be upgraded from PHP 7.4 to PHP 8.1! This allows for newer CMSs to function better on free hosting.

You do not need to do anything. The servers are being upgraded automatically, and the updates will be rolled out to your website soon. To check which version of PHP you are on, go to “General PHP Info” in the CPanel

What’s new in PHP 8.1?

PHP 8.1 brings many new features and is faster than its predecessor. PHP 8.1 allows you to run CMSs that may not have been previously available.

What if I need PHP 7.4?

If you need to roll back to PHP 7.4, this is only possible with a premium plan. Premium plans allow you to choose all the way from PHP 4.4 to the latest version.

MariaDB 10.4

MariaDB, the MySQL variant being used on the free servers, and the version have been upgraded from MariaDB 10.3 to MariaDB 10.4. This update comes with better security and improved performance.
